  Emily Lamons Profile PhotoEmily Lamons, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Creekside Manor in Saltillo.  She was 86.  Born April 22, 1937, she was the daughter of Lewis Smith and Sadie McKissick Smith.  Emily was a longtime resident of the Auburn Community where she and her husband raised their children.  On January 3, 1956, she married the love of her life, William David Lamons and they enjoyed 53 years together before his passing in 2009.  Emily was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and recently attended West Mooreville Baptist Church.  A woman who was creative and talented, she enjoyed making all kinds of arts and craft projects.  However her most treasured moments were spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Emily leaves behind her two sons, Ricky Lamons and wife, Louise, and Larry Lamons and wife, Christy, all of Auburn; three grandchildren, Kyle Lamons, Will Lamons and wife, Jennifer, and Stevie Lamons Rich and husband, Jared; her great-granddaughter, Annaleigh Lamons; her brother, Kenneth Smith, of Zephyr Hills, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Sadie Smith; her husband, David; and her brothers, James, Doug, and Tommy Smith; and her sisters, Evelyn Pannell, Mae Demeuse, and Louise Maloof.

Visitation will be 12 until 2 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Pegues Funeral Directors in Saltillo.  Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Saltillo Chapel with Rev. Edwin Pannell officiating.   A private family graveside service will take place at Chesterville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Montet, Jeff Maloof, Gary Pannell, Billy Clifton, Jared Rich, and Jimmy Cox.
