Elzie “Bill” Dozier, 89, peacefully went to his heavenly home on November 12, 2015 after a valiant battle with a brief illness. His devotion to his family and his belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Mr. Dozier was born to the late Elder Eugene “Gene” and Annie Mae Dozier on August 29, 1926. He met and married the love of his life, Mary Edith Mitchell on October 21, 1946. They spent 61 wonderful years together until she passed away March 2, 2008. He served in the U.S. Army as a cook, a skill he carried with him the rest of his life. His family and friends loved his chocolate and coconut pies. He retired from Daybrite after 39 ½ years and began selling cars full time. He and his wife, Mary, formed D and D Motors and sold many cars over the years. He retired from the car business when Mary became ill. At the age of 83, he began to day trade on the stock market using a computer built by his grandson. He completely retired at the age of 88. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Verona for many years.
