Elwood Gale Hall – Obituary

Elwood Gale Hall, 93, of Burnsville, MS, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Hall was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII, and served in the Navy Sea Bees. He was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad where he worked as a section foreman. Mr. Hall loved horses, and enjoyed trail riding and raising colts. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ed Kennedy. Interment will follow in Little Flock Cemetery. Pallbearers include Greg Kennedy, Brian Hudson, Mike Nash, Eddie Kennedy, Greg Adams, and Jeff Kennedy. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Edna Quay Amerson Hall of Burnsville; one son, Tommy Hall (Annette) of Murfreesboro, TN; one daughter, Pamela Hall Smith (Charles) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one sister, Glenda Hall Weeks of Winfield, AL; three grandchildren, Haven Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN, Hayden Smith of St. Louis, MO, and Adam Hall (Joy) of Murfreesboro, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Emory Hall and Harper Hall; a brother-in-law, Gene Amerson (Judy) of Burnsville; two sisters-in-law, Avarene Hall of Red Bay, AL, and Nadine Hall of Florence, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Justice and Letha Pate Hall; two brothers, Troy and Hoyt Hall; and a brother-in-law, Edward Weeks. Memorials may be made to the Little Flock Cemetery Fund or to New Liberty Baptist Church.
