Elton Leon King passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Marshall Medical Center North. Mr. King, formerly of the Morgan City community of Marshall County, was a 30 year resident of Joppa, Alabama. Elton was born March 21, 1951 in Marshall County, AL. Just five short days ago Elton celebrated his 74th birthday. His parents were Woodrow King and Charlotte “Beatrice” Pettit King. Elton was a Dental Technician and was owner/operator of the Full Service Dental Lab located in Cullman, AL.
Elton had a wide variety of interests. He enjoyed time spent at home. He could often be found sitting on the front porch of his log cabin simply enjoying nature with his dogs, Little Bit and BooBoo, and his cat, Blackie, often by his side. He liked fishing, feeding the catfish in the pond, riding his tractor, Alabama football, NASCAR, and gospel music. Elton considered himself the number one fan (and rarely missed listening) of Archie Anderson’s Helping Hand Radio Show on WRAB Radio.
In addition to his parents, Woodrow and Beatrice King, Elton was preceded in death by his son, Richard Elton King (2018).
Survivors include his sons, Ronnie L. King and Clint J. King (Jaclyn Parsons); sister, Brenda King Freeman; brothers, Charles R. King (Brenda) and Bobby Joe King; grandchildren, Ian Carter, Tiffany Carter, David King, Ally King, Dalton King and Marshal King; great grandchildren, Brantley Carter, Brystol Carter, Nora Trey King, and Stetson King.
Services for Elton will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 28, 2025. Family, friends and guests will gather for a visitation from 12:00 noon until 2:00pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00pm. Brother Jason Ditto will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Elton’s love of animals, the family encourages donations to the humane society of your choice.
