Elsie Martha Clanton, age 101, of Lawrenceburg,TN passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg in Lawrenceburg, TN. Elsie was born on January 21,1915 in Phil Campbell, AL.
She is preceded in death by her parents John Henry Jones, Lucinda Woodall Jones, and Dollie Weeks Jones (step mother); husband, Cecil R. Clanton; Son, Gilford Clanton; Grandson, David Gallaher; Great Grandson, Zachary Ryan Gallaher. Elsie is also preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday, August 15, 2016 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at New Prospect Baptist Church at 11:00AM Tuesday, August 16, 2016, with Bro. Brad Lowery and Bro. Chad Clanton officiating. Mrs. Clanton will lie in state at the church from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Tuesday morning. Interment will follow at Dunn Cemetery in Leoma, TN.
