Elsie Janette Tidwell, 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2022.  Her visitation will be on Tuesday December 27th at 11:00 am with a celebration of her life following at noon in the chapel at Williams Funeral Home in Florence, AL. Entombment will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Janette was preceded in death by her beloved husband Denver, her mother and father – Gladis and Leonard Smith and her siblings Harold Smith and Florine Green.

She left behind her two sons Chris (Donna) and Patrick, grand children Ashley, Daniel, Kristi, Andrea and Peyton along with 4 great grandchildren.

Janette was married to the love of her life Denver for 62 years and together they shared the joys of golfing and fishing.  Music was always a part of her life.  Janette was a musician – playing piano and guitar, a published song writer – for singers like Tammy Wynette and Gene Pittney and was a vocalist with several choirs – Shoals Praise and Worship Choir, Mother Singers and local church choirs.

Janette also expressed her artistic talents through sewing, drawing and painting.  She enjoyed gardening, canning and loved her pet dogs and cats.  In her younger days she was a cheerleader, majorette and was even known to occasionally show off her shoe tapping skills.

The family would like to thank Brentwood Retirement Community, Mitchell-Hollingsworth Veranda Unit and Southern Care Hospice for the love and kindness they showed Janette.
