Eloise Hopkins McDaniel was born August 6, 1926 in Selmer, TN the daughter of the late George Wesley and Hester Mae Huggins Hopkins. She departed this life on January 20, 2024 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 97 Years, 5 Months, 14 Days.
Eloise was united in marriage to L D McDaniel who preceded her in death on March 30, 2006. She attended Hunter’s Chapel Church.
Eloise dedicated herself to her career at ITT in Selmer and exemplified the dedication by never missing a single day of work. With a warm heart and loving hands, she had an extraordinary skill for sewing, quilting and cooking. Her Banana Pudding was nothing short of legendary!
She is survived by three daughters: Shirley Frye (Terry) of Luray, TN, Sandra Hall (Tommy) of Medon, TN, Regina Burkeens of Bethel Springs, TN; a sister, Ilar Faye Henry of Atlanta, GA; daughter-in-law, Joan King of Pocahontas, TN; 16 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Taylor (Grady) of Ramer, TN; a son, Wayne Wilbanks of Pocahontas, TN; siblings: Mary Jo Tennyson (Estill), Lois Weatherly (George), James “Buddy” Hopkins (Jean), Clara Robinson (George), Orlanda Hopkins, Mary Elvin Hopkins, Ruby Jewel Hopkins, Russell Hopkins and John Weldon Hopkins.
