Elloise Krusey Staas Profile Photo Mrs. Elloise Krusey Staas, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 10, 2023, in Madison, Alabama. She was born on December 18, 1932, in Freeport, Illinois to her parents Ernest Krusey and Francis Meacham Krusey. The Krusey family lived on a farm.

Elloise’s life was defined by love and compassion. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and nurturing spirit. Her career as a nurse was a testament to her unwavering commitment to helping those in need.

One of her favorite pastimes was genealogy collaboration with her brother Edwin Krusey. Together, they delved into the rich history of their family tree and created books that captured the stories and memories of each branch. These books became treasures within the family, filled with sweet anecdotes and cherished moments.

Elloise will always be remembered as an exceptional pancake chef. With her motto “Don’t smash the bubbles!” she delighted everyone with perfectly fluffy pancakes that brought smiles to the faces of her loved ones. Her skill in the kitchen was matched only by the love she showered upon her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They held a special place in her heart, and she adored every moment she spent with them.

Elloise is survived by her loving son, Jay Staas. She will be dearly missed by her grandson Nick Staas, granddaughter Whitney Staas, great-granddaughter Audrey Staas, and great-grandson William Staas. Her memory will also be cherished by her brother Edwin Krusey, sister June Moring, and several nieces and nephews.

Elloise is preceded in death by her husband, Karl J. Staas, and her son Steven Staas, as well as her parents, and two sisters, Ruth Werkheiser and Pauline Moring.

Elloise was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Madison, Alabama.

Visitation services will be held on October 13, 2023, at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory in Madison, Alabama from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. This will be followed by a Graveside Service for the family at Huntsville Memory Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

As we say farewell to Mrs. Elloise Krusey Staas, we celebrate a life well-lived, and a soul deeply loved. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she has left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to have known Elloise.
