Elkmont Man Dies From Injuries Received In Single-Vehicle Accident Near Athens

ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Athens has taken the life of an Elkmont man:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10 a.m. Monday, December 30, has claimed the life of an Elkmont man.

Donald J. Patrick, 58, was critically injured when the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu that he was driving left the roadway and struck a building. Patrick was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash. Patrick was transported to Athens Limestone Hospital in Athens where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Elkton Road near Black Road, approximately three miles north of Athens, in Limestone County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
