Elizabeth Yoder Brown, 91, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on February 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by her seven children, several of their spouses, and a grandson.

She was born to William C. and Sarah (Mast) Yoder on September 12, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, William Ira Yoder, and her second husband of eight years, Roger Brown, her parents, three brothers, Chris W. Yoder of Goshen, IN; Levi S. Yoder of Sarasota, FL; and William C. Yoder, Jr. of Bremen, IN; her sister, Katie W. Miller of Bremen, IN; two grandsons, Levi Ira Burkholder of White Pigeon, MI and Frederick Lyle Hannan of Macon, MS; a granddaughter, Emerald Sky Yoder of Hartselle, AL and an unborn great grandchild.

She is survived by her seven children: Mary Elizabeth Newton and her husband Gregory, William Harvey Yoder and his wife Karen of Macon, MS; Sara Kathryn Yoder and her husband, David, of Hartselle, AL; Delores Ann McCleskey of Huntsville, AL; Howard Gilbert Yoder and his wife, Sharon, of Morgan City, AL; John David Yoder and his wife, Delinda, of Huntsville, AL; and Anita Marie Yoder Marshall and her husband, Ward, of Huntsville, AL. Four brothers: Enos W. Yoder of Sarasota, FL; Ezra S. Yoder of Shipshewana, IN; Rudy W. Yoder of Sturgis, MI; and Clarence W.S. Yoder of Bennett, CO. Two sisters: Martha Thomas of Bradenton, FL and Sarah Marie Miller of Bremen, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She left behind 19 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren and two more on the way.

She was a homemaker for many years, and always raised a big garden. She loved hand work of all kinds, quilting, crocheting, sewing, basket weaving and creative writing.

She was a member of the Church of God at Westlawn in Huntsville, AL and is still a member of the Church of God in Heaven. She simply changed congregations.

The Bible states in Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of the Saints.”

Service for Mrs. Brown will be Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11 am with Bro. Robert Burns officiating at Westlawn Church of God. Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 5 until 8 pm at the church. Interment will be in Rescue Cemetery in Morgan City, AL.
