Elizabeth (Liz) Dean McGregor Wheeler, 68, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Leighton, Al. passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Her family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 pm on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:30 pm. Interment will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery.
She was born May 15, 1945 to Odie (Jack) and Elizabeth Pace McGregor in Leighton, Alabama. Liz was a beautician for over 20 years and she enjoyed being outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Jean McGregor Steele and Vena Mae McGregor Morgan.
She is survived by her husband, Lamar Wheeler; daughter, Karen Newell Britner (David); sons, Kevin Wesley Newell (Norma) and Justin Paul Rachel; grandchildren, Michael, Miranda, Annie, Dylan; great grandchildren, Kyla , Nellie, Braeden, and Mikayla; sisters, Agnes McGregor Thornton (Thurlo), Annette McGregor Quinn (Hershel), Betty Kimbrough; brothers, Stancil McGregor (Betty) and Ernest McGregor.
Liz will be missed by her loving family and friends.
