On March 9, 2025, Elizabeth Jane Warden Grishom, age 93, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, where she is now reunited with her beloved parents.
Elizabeth was born on July 12, 1931, in Moore County, Tennessee, to the late Robert Eugene Warden and Louise Minnie Martin Warden. A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, Elizabeth grew up attending Booneville United Methodist Church. Later in life, she served as church secretary at Asbury United Methodist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, and most recently attended White Oak United Methodist Church in Chattanooga (Red Bank), Tennessee.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Elizabeth spent many years as an administrative assistant at General Electric and later at the Tennessee Valley Authority corporate offices. Above all, she was a devoted mother, working tirelessly to support her daughter Jill through college. Elizabeth also had a great passion for raising and riding Tennessee Walking Horses, a hobby that brought her much joy. However, her greatest love was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Robert (Tammy) Bledsoe; daughter, Elisha “Jill” (Bass) Troutman; grandchildren, Hunter Evan Bledsoe, Kristin (SGT Kyle) Koppenhaver, Robert Hudson Bledsoe, and Charlie Troutman; great-grandchildren, Brendan Evan Bledsoe, Charley Brooke Bledsoe, and Mason Andrew Koppenhaver; and her cousin, Billy Martin of the Booneville community.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM CST on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Wyatt Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Booneville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home, located at 213 Market Street East, Fayetteville, Tennessee 37334.
