Elizabeth Jane Tagg of Huntsville, AL died on Sunday, 25 June 2023. She was 89 years old.
Elizabeth was born on 27 March 1934 in Carlingford, County Louth, Republic of Ireland. She attended technical college in Dublin Ireland and subsequently filled administrative support positions in a variety of organizations in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom between 1953 and 1961. Elizabeth married John Malcolm Tagg on 10 August 1959.
In 1963, Elizabeth and Malcolm immigrated to the United States with their two oldest sons—John and David—and settled in Huntsville, AL where her husband embarked on a 50+ year career in aerospace engineering. Elizabeth and Malcolm subsequently had two more sons—Malcolm and Howard. During the ensuing years, Elizabeth devoted her life to ensuring her family’s well-being, supporting her husband’s career, and raising their four sons to become responsible adults with successful careers.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her eldest son—John Herbert Tagg—and her loving husband of 62 years—John Malcolm Tagg. She is survived by her three sons—David, Malcolm and wife Alida, and Howard and wife Jeanine, and her grandchildren—John, Alan, Elizabeth, William, and Sarah.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, 7 July at St. Thomas Episcopal Church located at 12200 Bailey Cove Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35803. A reception will be held at 10 am with the funeral service to follow at 11 am. A private family burial will occur at Maple Hill Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
