Elizabeth Harper “Betsy” Taylor, age 96, a resident of Brownsville, TN, passed away on December 21, 2021, at the Bells Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bells, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, in Brownsville, TN with Dr. Roger Penn and Rev. Sammy Tillman officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Brownsville, TN. Betsy Taylor was born on December 19, 1925, in Vicksburg, MS to the late Sidney and Elizabeth Bomer Harper. She was a homemaker and took great pride in providing love and care for her family through the years. She was very fond of her animals and especially loved her cat, Allie. She enjoyed cooking, spending time working in her yard, and spending time outdoors. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Brownsville, TN. She is survived by one son, Barrow Taylor (Julie) of Brownsville, TN; one daughter, Beth Sellari (Tommy) of Brownsville, TN; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Sellari, Leah Elizabeth Eakin, Will Taylor, Eliott Hazlerig and one great-grandchild, Jack Eakin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Barrow Taylor, Sr. Pallbearers for the service are David Overton, Larry Livingston, Jim Nunn, Steve McCool, John Willis and Larry Baxter. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 117 E. Franklin St., Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
