Elizabeth “Betty Jo” Savage Pearsall peacefully passed away at the age of 90 in Huntsville, Alabama. Betty Jo, a lifelong resident of Huntsville, had wonderful and cherished memories of her life – especially helping in her parents’ local grocery store, her childhood friends and all the friends she made along the way. She never met a stranger, always had a smile and welcomed all to her home. In her lifetime, she was a co-owner of Pearsall Flowers, a real estate agent for Joe Steele Realty and a member of the Alabama Silver-Haired Legislature for the Department of Senior Services.

Betty Jo is preceded in death by her parents, John and Opie Savage, her brother, Maurice Savage, her beloved husband, Chester A. Pearsall, and two sons, Jimmy D. Pearsall and Carl E. Pearsall. She is survived by her sister, Delores Miller, age 91; three children, Mike Pearsall, and his wife Alicia, Lisa Balay, and her husband Naniel, Laura Lopez and Carl’s widow, Susan Pearsall; and nine grandchildren, Andy Pearsall, Patrick Pearsall, Ryan Pearsall, Alex Balay, Claudia Lopez, Carson Lopez, Shelby Pearsall, Clayton Pearsall and Sam Pearsall.

We wish to thank the Amedisys Hospice Team for their loving dedication to Betty Jo over the past few months. You are a blessing.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Friends wishing to commemorate Betty Jo’s life may donate to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Amedisys Foundation. Of course, flowers are also welcome.
