Elizabeth Ann Russom, 67, resident of New Albany, departed this life, Friday, November 24, 2023, as a result of an automobile accident in Robinsonville, MS.

Services honoring the life of Ms. Russom will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Jesse Russom officiating.  Visitation will be from 12Noon until time of service.  Burial will follow in Gerzim Cemetery in Myrtle.

Ms. Russom was born on September 17, 1956, in Union County, to the late Wiley D. and Ada Smith Floyd.  She received her education from the Byhalia Public School System.  Ms. Russom was a valued employee for Steve Livingston, Attorney at Law for 28 years before her retirement then was employed as a cashier for the Chevron in New Albany.  She was recently a valued employee as a secretary at Wrights Glass.

A devout Christian and member of Bethany Baptist Church, Ms. Russom was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She made an impact on many lives.  Known as “Nay-Nay” to her beloved grandchildren, spending as much time as possible with them brought her much joy.  A woman with a jokester personality, she will be remembered as the “life of the party”.  Some of her favorite past times included taking the grandchildren to the park, attending yard sales with her sister and collecting recipes.  She will be loved and missed by all of those who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memories include one daughter Sara Russom Brooks of New Albany, two sisters, Arleva Bumpas of Holly Springs, Betty Ann Clayton (Dennis) of New Albany, two brothers James W. Floyd (Margaret) of New Albany and Edward Floyd (Ann), three grandchildren Luke, Sawyer, and Keegan Brooks all of New Albany.

New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Russom family.
