November 26, 1926 – March 2, 2021

Our mother passed into Eternal Life on March 2, 2021 at 94 years of age. She was born in West Point, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Annabelle and John Fay, sister of John Fay, Jr., Patricia Burdick, and MaryAnn Fay Azhari.

She lived most of her married life in Northern Virginia with our father, Jose, who preceded her in death in 2007. She also lived in El Salvador, Washington DC, and Barbados, West Indies. She and Jose loved to travel by car in the United States making sure to see their children and grandchildren along the way.

Eleanor is survived by her children, MaryAnn (Maurizio) Fontana, Joe (Margie) Chavez, Kevin (Judy) Chavez, Susan (Rick) Parker, and Sharon (Bob) Byington; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She was a poet, a storyteller and writer, a beautiful singer, a traveler, with a fun and goofy sense of humor, a great lover of animals, and loved frogs, too.

Her unwavering Catholic Faith, that she loved, saw her through many trials in life.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Huntsville, AL. The time and date of interment will be announced
(Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Rd, Fairfax, VA)

We miss you Mom, but we pray that you are young and happy and forever with your Dear Jose, your parents, your siblings, the Angels and the Saints you so loved. We will continue to pray that you are, or will be soon with your Lord Jesus, Our Blessed Mother and Good Saint Joseph.

Jesus, we trust in you please take care of our mother until we can all be together forever.
