Elaine Ramsey Browning was born June 4,1944 in Medina, TN, the daughter of the late J. P. and Mabel Piercy Ramsey. She later moved to Southaven, MS and eventually settled in the Lawton Community in TN. She was united in marriage to Charles Kenneth Browning February of 1982. Mr. Browning preceded her in death on January 6, 2006. In years past, she worked for Cummins MidSouth for 15 years. Then Elaine was employeed at Selmer General Hospital, were she retired as a Administrative Assistant after 20 years of service. She was the former Treasurer of Lawton Community Center and a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Browning departed this life on March 24, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 9 Months, 20 Days.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Pitts and wife Cindy of Hickory Flat, MS, John J. Buchanan III and wife Denise of Flagstaff, AZ; three grandchildren: Stephanie Richardson and husband Marshall, Shelby Pitts and Amanda Buchanan; a great grandchild, Natalie Richardson.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by a brother, Dewight Ramsey; a grandchild, Amber Buchanan.
