Elaine Kay Meadows, of Jasper, AL, 68, passed on May 24, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Holden, WV, Mrs. Meadows lived in West Virginia, Ohio, Alabama, and Arkansas during her husband’s coal mining career. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother, granny, cook, gardener, caretaker, and a friend to many. Doing for others brought her much joy.

She is preceded in death by her father, Noel Hayhurst, Sr., her mother, Palmetta Kretzer, her step-father, Ernest Kretzer, and her father-in-law, Bobby G. Meadows, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bobby G. Meadows, Jr.; her mother in-law, Alice Meadows, two brothers, Volley (Sharon) Hayhurst of Milford, DE, and Noel Hayhurst, Jr. of Jasper, AL; two daughters, Amy (Jeff) Woods of Atoka, TN and Amanda (Paul) Rauwolf of Bentonville, AR; one son, Bobby G. (Melissa) Meadows of Memphis TN; seven grandchildren, Jay, Will, Emma, Hannah, Reese, Ella, and Miles; and several loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Memphis Jewish Home and Rehab and the Rheumatology Research Foundation in her honor.
