Eileen Hill Dorroh, 83, of Tupelo, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at her home in Tupelo. Eileen was born June 27, 1930, to Leonard and Lorine Hill in Itawamba County. She was a 1948 graduate of Tupelo High School. She married Neal Dorroh on March 26, 1949, and they had celebrated their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary this year. In 1961, Neal and Eileen moved to Florence, Ala., and they joined the First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher until they returned to Tupelo in 1991. She was a current member of First Baptist Church, Tupelo, where she continued to serve the Lord as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Eileen was very patriotic and had a deep appreciation of our veterans. She was a member of the Mary Stuart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Eastern Star for over 60 years.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Gayle Alexander officiating and special music by Randy Wood. A graveside will follow at Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Neal Dorroh; her children, Joy Dorroh Hubbard (Dennis), of Tupelo, and Neal Dorroh Jr. (Jennifer), of Copperas Cove, Texas; her grandchildren, Abigail Hubbard Stowell (Michael), of Florence, Miss., and Meaghan and Ryan Dorroh, of Copperas Cove, Texas; her great-grandson, Max Stowell; her brother, Maurice Hill (Mary), of Tupelo; and her sisters, Joyce Young, of Tuscumbia, Ala., and Kitty Brewer, of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lorine Hill; her sisters, Louise Hill and Carolyn Frazier; and her brother, Frank Hill.
Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
