Edward Simon Johnson, 94, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday. He was preceded in death by his son, Clark E. Johnson; first wife, Vivian W. Johnson; and parents, Oscar and Anna Johnson; and by his loving grandmother, Amanda Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a veteran of World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War and retired, as Colonel, after 38 years of service in the U.S. Army. He also retired from NASA where he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Johnson, and a host of friends. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. Darryl Goldman officiating. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
