Mr. Edward Phillip Maharrey, Jr., age 53, died suddenly Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at North MS Medical Center. He was born October 30, 1969 in Pontotoc, Mississippi to Edward Phillip Maharrey, Sr. and Melba Williams. Phillip worked as a forklift operator and shipping supervisor, employed by Chickasaw Container for more than 14 years until his death. He dearly loved his mother whom he cared for more than 20 years. He enjoyed playing video games and working at Chickasaw Container. The family is comforted by his profession of faith in Jesus. Phillip was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be at 3 PM, Friday, August 4, 2023 at Howell Family Cemetery in Okolona, MS with Bro. Andy Lewis (Nephew) officiating. Holland Funeral Directors is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences to the family may be posted at hollandfuneraldirectors.com.
Survivors include his loving mother, Melba Williams of Okolona; brother, Carl Ritchey of Okolona; 2 sisters, Jeanie Smith (Jack) of Amory and Lynda Moody of Houlka; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Derryl Williams.
