Funeral Services for Edward Louis Smith age 88  of Decatur   Al.  will be  Tuesday 2:00p.m. At Shelton Funeral Home with Burial   in  Roselawn  Cemetery .

Visitation For Mr. Smith will be Monday January 30th, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at  Shelton   Funeral Home. Justin Roberson will officiate with  Shelton Funeral Home Directing.

Mr. Smith died on January 27th,2017 at Decatur Morgan Hospital Decatur, Alabama. He was born on August 26th, 1928 to Emory Grady Smith and Catherine Louise Duncan .

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 58 years  Mary L. Smith of  Decatur ,Alabama . One Son Gary Smith and wife Cindy of Decatur, Al

One Sister Doris (Dot) Perry of Birmingham , Al .   (2) Grandchildren Chris Smith of Decatur, Al . Brandon Smith (Kacie) of Cullman, Al

Nephew  Jeff Smith of Cottondale,Al. (2) Nieces Randi Smith-Phillips and husband David of Orange Beach, Fl.  and Lynn Perry Sharp and husband Greg of Florence, Al

Mr. Smith lived a good life doing the things   he  loved the most. He  loved spending time with his family. He spent many weekends at Goosepond

Colony in Scottsboro, Al  fishing with his family and friends. Mr. Smith was a hard worker and work fulltime at Ed Smith Office Machines, Inc. in Decatur as Owner and CEO for over 40 years. He was member of the Danville Road Church of Christ. He was a Christian who loved the Lord.

A special thanks to  Dr. Scott Matthews, Dr. Robert Walker, Dr. James Boyle, Dr. Reginald Gladish and all the  amazing CCU staff at Decatur Morgan Hosptial for providing compassionate and skilled care for Mr. Smith. We could not have asked for a better team to care for him. We as a family will forever be grateful.
