Edward Jerome “Jerry” Gillon, age 85, of Hamilton AL, passed from his earthly body to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born In Birmingham, AL on June 4, 1935, to John William and Itsel Cook Gillon.
Jerry was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a servant of Jesus Christ who shared His gospel and lived a life worthy of his calling by living peaceably and showing genuine respect and love to all who knew him.
He took great joy in visiting with his sister, his brothers, his nieces, nephews and friends as much as possible.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, John Andrew Gillon, his parents, and his brother, Billy Gillon.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Manscill Gillon; his daughter, Karen Gillon Webb; his son, Chris J Gillon; his grandchildren, Adelyn Conner Gillon, Laura Webb Koonce, and Franklin Cabot Webb, Jr.; and six great-grandchildren. In addition, his surviving siblings are Connie Gillon Blan, Paul Gillon, Harvey Gillon, and David Gillon.
There will be no services at this time. A “Celebration of Life”, memorial service, to be held in Hamilton AL, will be announced in the coming months.
