It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edna Sue McDonald, a beloved member of our community. Sue, as she was affectionately known, was born on June 27, 1931, in Waynesboro, TN to her loving parents John Marion “Bay” Kelley and Lessie Copeland. Sue’s life was filled with love and dedication. On November 22, 2023, she married the late Fay McDonald, and he preceded her in death on January 14, 2017.
Sue’s faith was an integral part of who she was. She attended Kelley’s Chapel and Calvary Baptist Church where she lovingly served as a Sunday schoolteacher. Her commitment to her faith and her congregation touched the hearts of many. Professionally, Sue excelled as a sales consultant for Avon. Her determination and passion made her a top salesperson time and time again. In addition to her work with Avon, Sue also dedicated many years to the manufacturing industry.
On October 24, 2023, Sue peacefully departed this life in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 92 years, 3 months, and 27 days.
While they did not have any children of their own, Sue cherished her special relatives and caregivers who brought immense joy to her life: John (Sherry) McDonald, Tyler (Nicole), Hazel Ann, Colt, Colby (Courtney), and Layney McDonald. Jordan (Bailee), Jaxton, and Bennett Horton. Along with Anita Skelton who was a special friend. Special nieces: Charlene, McGahen, Wanda Smith, Shirley Crews and Dawn Moore Skelton (Jeff). Special nephew, Frankie Kelley.
Sue now joins her siblings in eternal peace as they await us in the embrace of the Lord. Anna Lou, Robert Howard, Homer Johnson, James Hassell, Albert Franklin, Clyde Talmage, Alfred Stanley, Clara Katherine, Joel Wade, Hester Roscetta, Martha, and Bessie Hazel Kelley.
Pallbearers will include John McDonald, Tyler McDonald, Colby McDonald, Jordan Horton, Colt McDonald, and Jaxton Horton.
Burial will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
