Edna P. Ambrose – Obituary

Edna-Ambrose-1468493553Edna P. Ambrose, age 83, wife of William B. Ambrose and a resident of Culleoka Highway, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Edna was born January 27, 1933 in Maury Co., the daughter of the late Luther Anderson and Claire Ethel Matthews Anderson. She and Bill were married on June 16, 1951. She was a homemaker and she and Bill together farmed their land. She was a member of the Culleoka Church of Christ, where she attended regularly. Edna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching soap operas and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one son, David R. Ambrose and one granddaughter, Amber (Jamie) Barron; three great-grandchildren , Kaelee Barron, Karson Barron and Kaitlyn Barron; two sisters-in-law, Ella Anderson and Dorothy “Dot” Anderson along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kenneth Ambrose, two brothers, Benton “Cotton” Anderson and Thomas Anderson and one sister, Evelyn Ring.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ambrose will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Troy Dugger officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Culleoka. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Wayne Anderson, Steve Anderson, Mike Anderson, Barry Anderson, Clark Anderson, Ronnie Ring, Gene Ring and Ray Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Carolyn Andrews, Dottie Morrow, Evelyn Morrow, Jim Bennett, Tonya Bennett, Mike Barron, Cindy Barron, Dot McMillan, Ozella Dugger along with the past and present members of the Culleoka Church of Christ.
