Funeral Services for Mrs. Edna Faye Kidd, age 81 of Lineville, will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Springhill Baptist Church pastored by Rev. E. Tramaine Solomon with Pastor Shirleen Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at the Lineville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Kidd gained her wings on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the UAB Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Mrs. Kidd was a lifelong resident of Clay County and was a graduate of the Clay County Training School. She worked at Head Start Daycare, was an assistant at the Lineville Nursing Home, worked for several years at Higgins Manufacturing, and finally retired from Wellborn Cabinets. Mrs. Kidd enjoyed baking, gardening and she was a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan. While in school, she played basketball. Some of her hobbies were coloring, word puzzles, and playing her electronic games. She enjoyed going to the Clay County Wellness Center where she

participated in the Water Aerobics class. Mrs. Kidd volunteered with local food distribution with members of Springhill Baptist Church and was active in the Lineville Senior Center along with her wonderful friends, specifically Mrs. Ruby Welch. She always had a smile on her face, loved caring and serving others, and was the kindest person to everyone she met. Her family was most important to her, and keeping the family together was one of the most important values to her. Mrs. Kidd enjoyed watching Soap Operas, specifically The Bold and the Beautiful. She was an active member and Usher for Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Kidd is survived by her five daughters: Angela Boyd (Michael) of Anniston, Kimberly Williams (Clarence) of Lineville, Jessica Horsley (Derrick) of Douglasville, GA, Sarah Battle (Kelvin) of Lineville, and Cynthia Harris (Brian) of Millerville; two sons: Walter Kidd Jr. (Penny) of Lineville and Edward Kidd of Savannah, GA; her step-daughter, Regina Marable of Phenix City;

24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews, and a large extendedfamily.

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Carzell and June Benson Garrett; her husband, Walter Kidd Sr.; two daughters: Sharon Hayes and Latetia Gooden; four brothers and two sisters.

Her Grandsons will serve as active Pallbearers. Her Son-in-laws will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Her visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. She will lie in state at Springhill Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
