Edna Dean Simpson, age 81, of Florence passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Visitation will be Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. at Elkins East Chapel. Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Chris White officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Flat Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband Delana Simpson. Daughter, Christine Tedford, brother, Andy Temple, sister Dorothy Wages and son-in-law Todd White. Edna is survived by one son, Joe Simpson and wife Lisa, four daughters; Debbie Mendonca and husband Barry, Michelle Brown and husband Tim, Marie Howard and husband Rickie, and Pam White, one brother, Lavern Brown and wife Tammy, two sisters; Melissa Burns and husband Mickey, and Fannie Mae Rudd and seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She graduated from Decatur High School, class of 1952. She very much enjoyed gardening, reading, and most of all loved spending time with her family.
