According to Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 we read, to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die.  Edna Avalene Cleveland was born October 11, 1925 to William Bethel and Arabelle Newell Credille. On January 2, 1946, she wed the love of her life, Arnold Cleveland. They were parents to six children.

Edna was a Primitive Baptist by faith. She was not only a worker at Blue Bell, but also a homemaker who loved caring for her family. With five children that was certainly an accomplishment-especially with a set of twin boys. Edna loved to garden, to prepare food for her family and meet any needs of her family. Her family was her main delight in life. Not only did her children, grandchildren and great-grands give her joy – she gave joy to each of them.

Edna’s time on earth was fulfilled on September 18, 2020. She passed into eternity, but left several loved ones: her children – David Cleveland (Sheila) of Tupelo, Linda Reed, and Donald Cleveland (Barbara) of Belmont; grandchildren – Dan Cleveland (Christi), Brad Cleveland (Mallory), Andrew Cleveland (Makita), Faith Patterson (Ben), Pat Reed, Jr. (Jodi), Cindy Reed, Jennifer Ridgway (Bradford) and Cheryl Keokominh (Pon) and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Besides her brothers and sisters, Oles, Claudie, Noonan, Allie Mae, Lurabelle, Annie, Amy, Faye and Addie, who preceded her in death, she will also be united with her husband, son, Ronald, daughter, Mary Catherine, the son who saw heaven but never earth, Jimmy Harold and her son-in-law, Pat Reed.

Services will be Saturday, September 19, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Greg Forbus officiating. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
