Edmond Burk Hickman, 79, of Huntsville, passed away October 22, 2024. Edmond was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Havey Fuqua Hickman and Roben Hickman. His older brother, Tom Hickman, passed away in 2020.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elise Harrison Hickman; his daughter, Nora Hixon; and his son, William Hickman.
As a child, Ed worked in his father’s gun and key shop, before attending the University of Alabama and marching with the Million-Dollar Band. After completing his bachelor’s degree in music education, Ed began working as a band director at Dothan High School. He and Elise were married in 1967, and both worked at Dothan High School. He completed his master’s in music education at the University of North Alabama.
