Edith Woodward Price, 89, of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday. Mrs. Price was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Calhoun Price and a brother, Harry Lee Woodward.
She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Meridianville. Mrs. Price served as the secretary for the directors of the Nike-X Project Office, the U.S. Army Advanced Technology Center, and the Sensors Directorate of the U.S. Army Strategic Defense Command. After retirement, she devoted her time to church, friends and family, and her front porch geraniums.
Survivors include daughters, Georgia Price Brooks (Donald) of Huntsville, and Sally Price Rice (Randy) of Grant; grandchildren, Elizabeth Page Rowe (Jeff) of Huntsville, Gregory Ray Brooks (Vicky) of Hazel Green, Timothy Jay Brooks of Morgan City, Christopher David Dowdy of Somerville and Daniel Price Dowdy (Amy) of Huntsville; great-grandchildren, Whitney Elizabeth Foster of Huntsville, John Donald Foster III of Birmingham, Wesley Brooks of Hazel Green, Jessica Brooks of Nashville, TN, William Brooks of Harvest, and Mackenzie Dowdy and Alexander David Dowdy, both of Somerville; great-great-grandchild, Matthew Gage Randall of Huntsville; brother, Morris Duncan Woodward; nieces and nephews, Janet Marie Geller (Kurt), of Raleigh, NC, Larry Walston Woodward (Cindy), Lee Alan Woodward (Cherry) and Steven Duncan Woodward (Debbie) all of Winchester, TN, nine great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tommy Bolan and Dr. Sammy Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
