Edith W. Sommers, age 72, passed away peacefully in her home on September 26, 2023. She was born on May 28, 1951, in Rome, Georgia, to Betty Allen and Carl Sheffield. Edie loved God and her family. Spending time at home with her loved ones was her favorite thing to do. Edie is survived by one brother, Carl Sheffield, two sons, Thomas ( Twila) Poston, Donald (Robin) Poston, one daughter, Astra Sommers. her grandchildren, Heath (Sierra) Poston, Camren Poston, Dylan (Ashton) Poston, Mandy Poston, Jasmine (Caleb) Sommers, Chase Sommers, Georgie Sommers, and several great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A small gathering will be held for local family and friends at her residence on Friday September 29 2023, and a celebration of life will be held at Blue Ridge Mountains October 28, 2023.
