A Graveside Funeral service an interment for Edith Roy, 86, will be Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Salem Cemetery with Bro. Jack Bailey and Bro. Joe Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday, January 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Ms. Roy died on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born June 18, 1938, in Jefferson County, to James Brice Bussey and Jessie Smith Bussey.
She began her teaching career at Eva and Falkville High Schools, where she taught English. In later years, she completed her career teaching Special Education at Burleson Elementary in Hartselle. She was employed by the Board of Education for Morgan County and Hartselle City during her teaching career and prior to her retirement.
She was a former member of McKendree Methodist and Salem Methodist Churches.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and a brother- Stanley Bussey.
