Edith Rebecca Holt Davis, 91 of Elkmont, passed away on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Davis was born on April 16th, 1932, in Limestone County, to Bee V. and Errine Swanner Holt.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughters Sammie Fite (Pete), of Decatur, and Amy Locke (Danny), of Elkmont; son Ned “Max” Davis (Lorie), of Athens; sister Ada Bee Clem, of Elkmont; brothers Dwight Holt (Sally), of Athens, and Mike Holt (Cindy), of Florida; grandchildren Laura Clark (Daniel), Adam Davis, Craig Davis (Allyson), Christopher Fite, Elizabeth Blankenship (Joseph), and David Locke (Miranda); and great-grandchildren Hayden Clark, Sawyer Clark, Bailey Davis, Cole Davis, Penelope Blankenship, Cooper Locke, and Ellie Locke.
She is preceded in death by her husband Claud Adams Davis; parents Bee V. and Errine Swanner Holt; sister Margaret Hogan; and brother Ralph Holt.
A graveside service for Mrs. Davis will be Thursday, September 28th, 2023, at 5:00pm at Hodges Cemetery, with Ned “Max” Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Adam Davis, Craig Davis, David Locke, Daniel Clark, and Joseph Blankenship.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Davis’s special caregiver Helen Thomas and to Hospice of Limestone County.
