Edison Henry "Ed" Sandefur Edison Henry “Ed” Sandefur, 91, retired teacher for over 50 years, died Monday, October 25, 2021 at his residence in Lawrenceburg.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Andrew Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

 

Born August 7, 1930 in Tippecanoe, Indiana, he was the son of the late Charles Sandefur and the late Nevada Faultz Sandefur. Mr. Sandefur was a member of Graymere Church of Christ.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Pam (Lewis) Phelps of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Autumn (Evan) Brown, Joshua Phelps, Jonathan Phelps, Ashlee Phelps, Travis (Kelly) Lester; great grandchildren, Mady Lester, Macy Lester; sisters, Cynthia Kees, Christine Sandefur, and brother, John Sandefur.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Sue Roberts Sandefur, Betty JoAnn Griffin Sandefur, and Brenda Gail Fowler Sandefur; son, Mark Sandefur; daughters, Anita Martin, and Susan Sandefur; and nine siblings.

 

Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

 

The family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hospice Compassuas, the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, and Bryant “Bo” Solis for all his love and care shown to Mr. Sandefur and the family.
