Edgar Royce Evans age 75 of the Temperance Hall Community, passed away Saturday September 5, 2020 at his residence. He was born January 3, 1945 to his parents the late H. H. “Buster” and Alta Mae Caplinger Evans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Martha Caroline Evans; brother, Hayden (MA Boyce) Evans. Mr. Evans enjoyed traveling and working the family farm. He was a farmer and retired from Bonnell after 36 years and member of New Middleton United Methodist Church. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joe Ann Frazier Evans of Temperance Hall; son, Gordon (Jen) Evans of Temperance Hall; daughter, Rachel (Greg) Ellis of Smithville; 5 grandkids, James and Kevin Evans of Temperance Hall, Logan, Katie, and Landon Ellis all of Smithville; step-grandson, Dakota Castle; step-granddaughter, Amanda Pickett; 1 niece and 2 nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 1:PM Wednesday September 9, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Royce Martin officiating and burial to follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday September 8, 2020 at 4:PM till 7:PM and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. Due to the COVID-19, the Governors Executive Orders 38 and 51 and Social Distancing Guidelines; Our pews in the Chapel are marked off to respect the guidelines and allow approximately 100-125 people for the service, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise Social Distancing. The Funeral Home Lounge is Closed and NO Food or Drinks are allowed in the funeral home at this time. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
