Eddy Joe Brackin, 78, of Florence, passed away October 19, 2023. A visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home Monday, October 23, 2023 from 12-2 pm with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Kevin Johnson will officiate the service.
Eddy Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Edna Brackin; sister, Norma Wear, and brother, Billy Jack Brackin.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Brackin; son, Gregory Joe (Greg) Brackin, and his granddaughter, Piper Pace.
Eddy Joe graduated from Hazlewood High School, The University of North Alabama and the University of Alabama with a PHD in mathematics. He taught mathematics at the University of North Alabama for 47 years and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church Florence for many years.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Austin, Oscar Beck, Jackie Brackin, Ethan Kitchens, Charles Kitchens and Robin Wear.
