Eddie "Junior" Theodore Ledbetter, Jr.Eddie “Junior” Ledbetter Jr., of New Hope, passed away peacefully in the evening of July 27 at the age of 84.

He was born to Eddie Theodore and Lillie Ann (Nash) Ledbetter in 1937 and was a lifelong resident of New Hope. He worked at Butler Brothers for 2 years and eventually with the City of Huntsville Fleet Maintenance where he retired after 28 years. In 1953, Eddie met Eula Mae Keel at a basketball game and from that day he knew she was the wife for him and they celebrated 65 wonderful years together.

Eddie was a kind, honest, and hardworking man who enjoyed living life with his family. His greatest joy was seeing and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed raising animals, growing a garden, farming, fishing and swinging in the carport.

Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Theodore Ledbetter, his mother, Lillie Ann Ledbetter, sisters, Evelyn Davis, Jennie Ruth James and Barbara James, brothers, Joe B. Ledbetter and Johnny Ledbetter.

He is survived by his wife Eula Mae (Keel) Ledbetter, sons Jeffery (Jamie) Ledbetter and Steven (Lisa) Ledbetter, grandchildren, Daniel Ledbetter, Brittany (Trevor) Fowler, Blake Ledbetter and Savannah Ledbetter and 2 great-granddaughters, Madilyn Grace Fowler and Oakleigh Claire Fowler, sisters, Marie Nichols, Betty Kiper and Linda (John) Honea, Brother Danny (Jeanette) Ledbetter, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home, Thursday at 3:00 PM with Rev. Michael Carpenter officiating.

Interment will be in the Keel Cemetery.
