Eddie Gene King, McMinnville, Tennessee passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at his home peacefully.
Ed was born on May 21, 1953 in Jasper, TN. He was the True King of all Trades. As a licensed electrician, builder and plumber, he built from countless custom homes to log cabins. He was the owner of Woodcrafters Custom Homes and the Owner of Fit For A King Carpentry. Earlier in his career he was the foreman at Norwalk Furniture and at Davis Cabinets. Ed was a devoted Christian by faith.
As cooking was his passion, the folks in Altamont will remember him for his delicious meals and everyone was welcomed. He lead horseback trail rides and deer hunting expeditions. He was a critical caregiver for 7 years for his brother, Glenn. He was also a brilliant storyteller in reflecting on his life experiences.
Ed was a natural born, well disciplined leader; who thrived for excellence in everything he did. He was always” the go to man” to fix any issue . He will be remembered in Texas as the man who built his home without help and he will be remembered in Tennessee as the man who hiked every state park twice. Above all else, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, James Nugent King and Lillian Lewis King, siblings: Robert, Charles, Houston Glenn, Phillip, Annie and Helen King.
Survivors include his life partner, Doretta, his daughters, Tammra King Trueblood; Lilli-Ann King and Haven King, his sons, Wyatt King and Glendon Chasey King. His sister, Patsy Hudson and his Aunt Frances Conner. His former partner, Peggy Harris and bonus daughter, Swati Kapoor. He had a special bond with his granddaughters, Morgan (Alex) Caldwell and Mariah (Austin) Tarter. A total of 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and
