Eddie Gene Burns, 59, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 18, 1965 to the late Billy Gene Burns and the late Peggy Brown Ford in Itawamba County. He was log truck driver and skidder operator for over 40 years, and a dedicated employee for Rodney Childers Logging for the past 17 years. Eddie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday March 18, 2025 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Ball, and Bro. Andy Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday March 17, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his loving partner of 40 years, Lawana “Nonnie” Burns of Tremont; daughters, Kesta Burns and Katresa (Byron) Nulph, both of Tremont; grandchildren, Alyssa Pannell, Sara Pannell, Heaven Nulph, Gabriel Nulph, and Noah Nulph; and 2 brothers, John (Toni) Burns and Travis Burns, both of Tishomingo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Burns; mother, Peggy Ford; step father, Jimmy Ford; 2 brothers, Charlie Burns, and Teddy Burns; granddaughter, Naomi Klaire Nulph, and a nephew, Casey Wade Burns.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Kelton, Rodney Childers, Austin Childers, Josh Wright, Michael Watson, and Hunter Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Kelton and Daniel Sturdivant.
