  Doyle Flippo Profile PhotoEarney Doyle Flippo, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory.  He was born on September 29, 1934 in Quincy and was a son to Clifton Dallas and Margie Tipton Flippo.  He grew up in Greenwood Springs and married the former Jane Carter on March 4, 1952.  For many years, he was an over-the-road truck driver logging over 3 million safe miles before retiring.  He owned Flippo’s Drive Inn and, at one time, had a Holsom Bread route.  Doyle loved to be out on the water taking his children skiing, or riding trails on horseback and catfishing with his wife.  He boasted of having carried his wife to all 50 states.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Stanley Blaylock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Haughton Memorial Park.

He is surived by a son, Richard Flippo (Susan) of Southaven; three daughters, Donna McCurley-Thiel (John) of Albertville, AL, Mitzi Dayball (Charles) of Panama, Rhonda Williams (Mark) of Columbus; two brothers, Wayne Flippo of Caledonia and Bobby Flippo (Nell) of Amory; grandchildren, Brad Riggan, Jason Flippo, John Flippo, Shelly Flippo, Nathan McCurley, Peter McCurley, Darby Unruh, Macy Williams, and Patrick Chism; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane Flippo; granddaughter, Monica Chism; and sister, Bennie Faye Harrelson.

Pallbearers will be Jason Flippo, Brad Riggan, Nathan McCurley, Patrick Chism, Jay Harrelson, and Larry Flippo.

Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
