Earnestine Roberts, 85, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Oak Tree Manor in Amory. Born on May 19, 1939, she was one of the three daughters of Will and Flora Bailey Gray. In her early working years, she was at Wilson Mfg. before returning to cosmetology school. A graduate of Vaughan’s Beauty College, she began a 40-year career as a beautician operating her own shop, Fancy-Kurl in Amory where she made many friends over the years. She married J.C. Pierce and then later to Kenneth Roberts both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Roberts enjoyed reading, traveling for which she always had her bags packed, and she liked birdhouses. She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Hatley.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Amory Historical Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Pierce of Amory; daughter, Teresa Stanford (Ed) of Amory; two grandchildren, Paige Lochridge (Adam) and Jake Stanford (Anna Marie); 5 great grandchildren, Anna Masen Lochridge, Pierce Lochridge, Earlea Stanford, Elizee Stanford, and Logan Stanford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, J.C. Pierce and Kenneth Roberts; 2 brothers, Willie and Wesley Gray; and 2 sisters, Lillian Freshour and Adelene Randolph.
Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
