RET SSGT Earlyn “Earl” D. Carter, 85 of Gurley, AL passed away on May 28, 2022. Earl was born in Huntsville, AL on May 19, 1937.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, daughter, Rebecca Bradford (Joey), daughter, Sue Little (Charles), daughter, Leisa Isbell (George Bolding), daughter, Synitha Reynolds, son, Terry Reynolds, daughter, Jennifer Burgett (Michael); 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Earl served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, after 20 years of service to our country. He went to work at the Redstone Arsenal as a Mail Handler and Security Officer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also loved to watch old Western’s and listen to music.

You may visit with the family on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services, officiated by Dr. Bobby Burt, will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00pm in Valhalla’s Celebration Chapel. Interment will immediately follow with full military honors at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Garden of Crosses. The family will be accepting donations for funeral expenses as well as flowers.
