Earlene Browning, 93, of Tishomingo, MS, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023. She was born October 26, 1929, to Herbert and Odie Southward. She graduated from Tishomingo High School. Earlene worked as a seamstress at Blue Bell Garment Factory until she became a full-time homemaker to raise her daughter and support her husband on their farm. She was blessed with 69 years of marriage to her loving husband, James Browning. She was a dedicated worker in her church, serving on many committees and helping wherever she was needed. Earlene loved God and was always eager to share her faith with others. She enjoyed growing flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family. She adored her grandsons and considered them one of her greatest blessings. Cutshall Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Visitation will continue from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, at Tishomingo United Methodist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, at Tishomingo United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Kennedy officiating. Tim Cox, Charles Ezell, Jason Southward, Benny Parrish, Jeff Dover, David Browning, and Greg Meyer will serve as pallbearers. Bryan Southward, Larry Cox, Richard Pharr, Bill Yarbrough, and Neil Edmondson will serve as honorary pallbearers. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is entrusted with the arrangements. She is survived by her daughter, Tricia Bates (Bill); two grandsons, Alexander James Bates and Matthew Browning Bates; her brother, H. O. Southward (Carolyn); two sisters-in-law, Eloise Dover (Sonny) and Helen Browning; a brother-in-law, Joe Browning (Deb); and numerous nieces and nephews.
