Earl Calvin Deuel of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on June 14, 2024, in his home surrounded by his children.
Earl Calvin Deuel was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully since the age of 9. His favorite verse was Ephesians 2:8-9.
Calvin was born in Loxley, AL, finished High School in Castleberry, AL and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1949. He served in the US Navy from 1944 with an honorable discharge in 1946. His active duty was with the Navy Aircore in Submarine Patrol Squadron #210 as Flight Engineer where he searched for German subs. Calvin worked with the Werner Von Braun team at NASA from February, 1951 and retired in December, 1978. After which, he and Mildred traveled much of the United States.
He is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of almost 59 years, Mildred Pruitt. They have 4 children: Betty, Margaret (Duane), Raymond (Gail) and Brenda (Mike); 8 grandchildren, 27great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Mildred and Calvin both served in many offices in the church and brought up their children to love and serve the Lord.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Friendship Baptist Church beginning at 1:00pm with the service following at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens following the funeral services.
