Mr. Dwight (Wayne) DeWayne Martin was born July 4, 1960, in Madison, Alabama, to Idella Leslie and the late Johnnie Martin. He entered eternal rest on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital.
Wayne accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Butler High School. He worked several occupations always finding something helpful to do in life. Always trying to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Martin; maternal grandparents Robert Leslie and Beulah Fletcher; paternal grandparents Columbus and Ada Martin; and brother Johnnie Martin Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother, Idella Leslie, six sisters; Annie Carol (Gary) Chestnut, Cynthia (Mike) Booker, Jackie (Cecil) Gholston, Katrina (Edward) Briggs, Barbara Jackson all of Huntsville, AL, Anjanette Ellington of Michigan, two brothers; Michael (Gloria) Mack and Edward Ellington of Michigan; two daughters; Lakecia (John) Holloway, Tina Eason; eight grandkids, Jazmyne Miller, Jaleen Miller, Jeremiah Fletcher, Adreanna Eason, Lakey Pryor, Malik Pryor, Chakra Simmons, Keasean Eason; three great grandkids all of Huntsville, AL; two uncles; William (Lela)Walton, Roy Lee Martin; Five aunts: Anna Mae (Dennis) Caulde, Ada (Carl) Orr, Lucinda Martin, Betty Martin, and Sally Mae Martin all of Huntsville, AL; a special cousin and friend; Reta Ellison of Huntsville, AL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Dwight DeWayne Martin will be12:30 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810). Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mr. Martin will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
