Dwight Thomas Jackson, 68 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021 at the home of his mother. Dwight served in the Army in Korea as a Telecommunication Computer Specialist in the 70’s and later worked and retired from Motorola. A member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, Dwight was a graduate of West Limestone ’71 and from Calhoun ’98 as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed new adventures, travel, and carrying his family to visit Amish country. He is preceded in death by his dad, Thomas Odell Jackson of Elkmont. He is survived by his mother, Sarah Evelyn Skeets Jackson, of Elkmont, and siblings: Billy (Rita) Jackson, of Lester; Shelia (late husband Dale) Wilbanks, Johnnie (Ann) Jackson, Deborah (Randy) King, Ronald Jackson, Randell (Sherry) Jackson, and Donny (Tracy) Jackson, all of Athens; aunt Geneva Townsend, of Lester; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial & graveside service is handled by Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, and will be Saturday, February 13th, 2021, at New Salem Cemetery at 11:00am. Athens Limestone Hospice did a fabulous job making Dwight comfortable and the family appreciates all the help and prayers of the community.
