Dwight Joseph McNeese, 63, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital.
Mr. McNeese lived around the Ardmore area his entire life and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family dearly and was always willing to share a laugh whether he knew you or not. Dwight found his professional calling driving an 18-wheeler as well as being a skilled machine operator for many years. Outside of work, his love for Ardmore High School sports would be amplified when his children became involved. He thoroughly enjoyed driving “The Goose” for the Ardmore High School Band and helping them any way he could. He always made a point to put others first and would do anything to help someone. Dwight was a one-of-a-kind person, a wonderful father and husband, the life of the party, and his laughter, jokes, and comments will be genuinely missed by all those that knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, as well as numerous aunts and uncles; survivors include his wife, Connie Colwell McNeese; son, Donald Douglas (Mollie) McNeese; daughter, Alesha Dawn (Will) McNeese Blair; brother, Steven (Jennifer) McNeese; one uncle, Gene (Debbie) Mullins; one nephew, Daniel (Rachel) McNeese and their daughter, Savannah McNeese; one niece Hannah McNeese; two grandchildren, Ian and Elliott.

Dwight really was a good guy, he coached my daughter (Shelby Goldsmith) in her first year playing ball at the Tennessee pall park many many years ago. Forward in time I had the luxury of listening to him the entire trip on the parent bus with the band to Washington DC. If I remember correctly I was granted tickets to go to the Whitehouse Rose garden Tour with Laura Bush (our bus went AWOL). He definitely had many friends and his Dad Don was just as good to me personally. Conny, If you read this, I am so very sorry for your loss and I hope only the best for You.. With You and the kids I pray you will find peace, I will miss Dwight, he was my friend, Brian Goldsmith.
