Funeral service for Dwight Gardner, age 65, of Decatur will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 1:00PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation be will from 11:00AM to 1:00PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Roselawn Cemetery.
He was born December 20, 1957 to Carl and Ruby Gardner in Circleville, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his aunt Edith Gardner.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Debra Lovelady Gardner, son Garrick Gardner, daughter, Alisha Gardner Driggers (Adam), son, Joshua Rains (Cynthia), daughter, Kathryn Rains Coats (Matthew), five grandchildren, Cohen Coats, Lexi Rains, Maura Kate Coats, Emma Rains, and Braden Gardner.
He was a member of Decatur Baptist Church, a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, past Master of the Rising Sun Lodge #29 F&AM in Decatur, past Patron Mary Lou Darcy #320 OES. He was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Rains, Matthew Coats, Cohen Coats, Aaron Sivley, Spencer Terry, and Jeremy Terry.
Memorials may be made to First Priority of Decatur or Decatur Baptist Church Mission Fund.
