Dudley Pierce, 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at his home in Smithville. Born in Itawamba County on January 22, 1941, he was a son to William and Odie Holloway Pierce. He grew up in the Turon Community and he married the former Peggy Irvin on February 20, 1960. Prior to his retirement, he was a manufacturing supervisor for Fabrivalve and later for Tecumseh Products. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, and he enjoyed watching westerns.
A graveside service will at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Turon Cemetery with Bro. Mike Tucker officiating. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Pierce; two daughters, Teresa Hogan (Richard) and Michele Sullivan (Allen); 4 grandchildren, David Hogan (Kelly), Laura Myatt (Lee), McKenzee Sullivan, and Seth Sullivan; 4 great grandchildren, Katryna Hogan, Avery Hogan, Ryan Hogan, and Bryson Myatt; and good friends, Bobby Joe Stevens, Steve Reese, Matt Hannon, and Thomas Stafford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Dow and Charles; and sisters, Marcell, Marlin, Jessie, and Eva; and a great grandson, Alex Myatt.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
